Killed in action on  24.2.1943 at the age of 20.
Iron cross 2nd class, general assault badge, tank destruction badge (Posthumously awarded for actions on 24.2.43) & eastern front medal.

30 Infantry Division – 30th Bicycle Reconnaissance Battalion – Volunteer
Wounded 5 times 3 during the Russian campaign. Discharged on 5.4.45 due to injuries at the age of 31.
Iron cross 2nd class, wound badge in silver, wound badge in gold & eastern front medal.
